Impact Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) inaugurated the newly built building of the Impact Nursing Institute, the “Jibon Mela Academy” on October 7, 2025. Honorable Chief Guests, Mr. Lutz Michael Franz, Chairman of the Lutz and Hedda Franz Charitable Trust (LHFCT), and Ms. Hedwig Franz, Trustee, LHFCT, unveiled the donor board of the academic building. LHFCT Trustees, Mr. Christopher Peter Lavender and Mr. Rene Hodel, were also present at the event, which commenced with a floral reception, guard of honor by the nursing students, and national flag hoisting with the national anthem. Rezaul Haque, PhD, Chairman and Founder Trustee of Impact Foundation Bangladesh, presided over the inaugural session. He mentioned how IFB’s nursing school will impact the rural girls who, once, could not dream of higher education due to the absence of such educational facilities in the region. He stated, “The institution is a symbol of social transformation”. The ceremony included a welcome speech by Mr. Safiqul Islam, Administrator of Impact Meherpur Programme, and a presentation by Dr. Hasib Mahmud, CEO, IFB. IFB Trustees, Dr. S.M. Akbar and Ms. Aasha Mehreen Amin, also made remarks at the event. Mr. Christopher Peter Lavender, Trustee of LHFCT, expressed immense joy and excitement upon seeing the newly built building. He wished success to the future nurses. Mr. Lutz Michael Franz, Chairman, LHFCT, congratulated the students on the inauguration of the new building of Impact Nursing Institute. A student representative and a guardian expressed their joy at the event, which came to an end with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Alomoti Begum, Principal of the Impact Nursing Institute. Impact Nursing Institute has contributed 170 diploma nurses to the health sector of Bangladesh since its inception in 2014.
The guests attended a cultural programme in the evening at the auditorium of the new building, organized by the students of the Impact Nursing Institute.
