Rezaul Haque, PhD

Chairman and Founder Trustee, Impact Foundation Bangladesh

Dr. Rezaul Haque has been a key guiding force for IFB since its inception in 1993.  Over the past four decades, Dr. Haque has extensively worked in the fields of civil society and NGOs, democracy and governance, human rights, public policy, development aid, disability & development and public health. 
Dr. Haque has served in leadership, senior management, and technical positions in international NGOs, donor agencies, and think tanks, including at USAID/Bangladesh, Counterpart International, Lutheran World Service/RDRS, Save the Children, Sightsavers International (formerly RCSB), and the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies.

His long and proven development experience is backed by solid academic credentials. He has a PhD in International Relations, and higher training in development management and leadership from Harvard University Kennedy School, US Federal Executive Institute, and Cranfield University, UK.

Mr. Monsur A. Choudhury​

Ashoka Fellow, Founder Trustee, Impact Foundation Bangladesh

A visionary without sight, Mr. Monsur Ahmed Chowdhury lost his eyesight following an accident at the age of seven years. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a BA degree with Honors in Political Science from the Dhaka University, and also received advanced education at the University of Oslo, Norway, Little Rock University in the USA, and the Institute of Development Studies in Sussex University in the UK.
Mr. Chowdhury served as a Member of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Treaty Body) from 2009-2012, and holds several key positions, including Founder Trustee and Founder Director at Impact Foundation Bangladesh.

Mr. Md. Mahbub Alam

Trustee, Impact Foundation Bangladesh

Md Mahbub Alam has obtained his M. Sc Engineering (Electrical) from Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Kiev, Ukraine, and has founded a Group of Companies, namely, ‘BS GROUP’ in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Md Mahbub Alam has Aviation business since 1995. He is also associated with the import of luxurious building materials.

Mr. Mohamed Bin Quasem

Trustee, Impact Foundation Bangladesh

Mohamed Bin Quasem has obtained his Master’s in Economics at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA, and has founded a large business group comprising several Ready-made garments and Textile industries. Mr. Quasem is also actively associated with several charity organizations in Bangladesh.

Dr. S.M. Akbar

Trustee, Impact Foundation Bangladesh

Dr. S.M. Akbar obtained a PhD from Newcastle University in the USA and an MBA degree from SouthBank University in the UK. Dr. Akbar has over 40 years of experience in international and joint-venture banking across Asia and Europe. He served as a senior leader in multiple international banks and financial institutions. He was an active member of key trade and investment bodies like the FBCCI and the Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce. He has also been involved with various development and social welfare organizations as a Board member/Director. A former part-time faculty member, teaching MBA finance courses at universities in Bangladesh. He has achieved a gold medal for his contributions in the Banking sector from the Nawab Salimullah Trust.

Mrs. Aasha Mehreen Amin

Trustee, Impact Foundation Bangladesh

Mrs. Aasha Mehreen Amin is the Joint Editor of The Daily Star newspaper. She has a distinguished career in Bangladesh’s media sector. She has extensive and proven experience as a respected senior journalist in the country, and has a special interest in human rights, health, social trends, economy, literature, and creative writing. She completed Bachelor of Science in Economics, Summa Cum Laude Graduate, from Boston College, MA, USA. She also earned the Asia Foundation Fellowship in Investigative and Environmental Journalism at the University of California at Berkeley, USA.
