Impact ‘Jibon Mela’ Health Centre was established on October 24, 2007, building on the success of the Chuadanga programme with the vision to extend medical and surgical services to reach underprivileged and underserved communities in Meherpur and adjacent districts. The Meherpur programme started as a community-based healthcare initiative that quickly grew in scope and ambition.

The 20-bed, fully functional and well-equipped healthcare facility is providing healthcare services, including maternal and child healthcare; outpatient and inpatient treatment; specialized surgeries, such as eye, ENT, orthopedic, cleft lip/palate; and physiotherapy services for prevention and cure of avoidable disabilities. Further, the ‘Jibon Mela’ Health Centre also provides capacity-building training and health education for social awareness and community empowerment.

Through its integrated approach—combining hospital-based care with outreach activities—the Meherpur programme is continuing to transform the lives of people in need, leaving a lasting impact on society.
