Hydrocephalus – a medical condition is caused by accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain’s ventricles. The serious abnormality can be caused by various factors, such as, brain tumors, infections, internal bleeding, or aging, that needs surgical interventions or can cause brain damage, physical disability, or even death.
Access to hydrocephalus treatment in Bangladesh is extremely limited, especially outside of the capital- Dhaka. In collaboration with a local Neurosurgeon, we aim for reducing the sufferings of affected children through life-changing surgery to ensure a healthier and a more dignified life for poverty-stricken children from rural, remote areas.
