Our Inception
Impact Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) started its journey in 1993 with the inspiration and support from Late Sir John Wilson, CBE, DCL, the architect of the Global IMPACT Movement, an international initiative against avoidable disabilities. IMPACT brings together activities that already exist at international, national, and community levels, strengthening and extending them. Impact Foundation Bangladesh envisions a Bangladeshi society free from disability and poverty where people can fully realize the potentials of their lives.
IFB is registered as a Charitable Trust with registration number 45, dated 25th July 1993, and also as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of Bangladesh, bearing registration number 775, dated 20th November 1993. It is an independent national Foundation and also a member of the International Federation of IMPACT Organizations (IFIO). IFB is governed by a 7-member Board of Trustees. The Foundation’s programs are implemented and managed on a day to day basis by a team of more than 200 staff members and many volunteers.

Covid-19 response
Isolation Center
IFB has established two corona isolation centers in Chuadanga and Meherpur in its hospitals. A team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and other support staff were engaged in the isolation centers with proper training and safety gear. All were equipped with proper PPE to protect themselves and also the patients from the coronavirus.
Emergency food aid
The COVID-19 pandemic had made a serious economic impact on the poor families, affecting mainly the daily earners such as labour and small business owners on the roadsides, due to generalized lockdown in the country. In this context, IFB supported 950 poor families with emergency food parcels to ensure that the most vulnerable people have the necessary food to stay safely at home.
Safe hands save lives
Hand washing is one of the most effective means to reduce the spread of pathogens and prevent infections, including the COVID-19 virus. IFB gave high priority to ensure this practice at its hospitals and also raised awareness on hygiene practices and handwashing across the communities through training of more than 22 thousand mother’s club members in Chuadanga and Meherpur. IFB has installed handwashing facilities at the entrance to all our health facilities. It also distributed masks, soaps, and hand sanitizers to government hospitals, local journalists, and mother’s club members.
